Goutham uncle has requested that I conduct research
on the various challenges that the youth in India face when choosing their
career path. I have conducted some research on this topic and it can be seen
below:
There are many obstacles that the youth of India
face when choosing their career path. Some of the reasons they find it hard to
have purpose in choosing a career are as follows:
·
Lack
of Relevant Education Opportunities: Those students who
come from poor backgrounds are unable to acquire the proper education and are
thus never provided the proper information on how to choose a certain career
path. Lacking these education opportunities automatically puts these kids at a
disadvantage when it comes to choosing a career.
·
Lack
of Direction: Those who live in poor areas are never
exposed to the various career options that are present. As kids, they need an
adult to guide them in their career choices. Not having an adult who can
provide this sense of direction prevents the kids from dreaming big.
·
Literacy
Issues: Many of India’s youth are illiterate. Not being
able to read and write is a hindrance to achieving their goals in life. By
being illiterate the kids are unable to choose career paths that require for
these abilities to be present.
·
Lack
of Knowledge of Government Opportunities: Many of India’s youth
are unaware of the various programs that the Indian government fosters, to
ensure that every child has the opportunity to choose the career path of his or
her dreams. Since the children are unaware of these programs, they feel that
the only career paths for them are the ones that lack high-potential.
·
Lack
of fiscal resources: Many kids in India come from less
fortunate backgrounds. Coming from less fortunate backgrounds prevents these
kids from being able to pursue education that is associated with certain
careers. For instance, in order to become a doctor one must go to a
well-established institution of higher learning. For these kids, the
possibility of going to school at a well-established institution of higher
learning is very seldom for the mere fact that their families are unable to
afford this type of education.
